ZR1 Program Receives Rave Reviews
Our inagural Ron Fellows Performance Driving School for new ZR1 owners was held last week at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch to postive reviews. Last month we took delivery on two screaming fast new ZR1’s, with two more expected to be delivered in November. Ron Sinor, one of our ZR1 program students from Tulsa, Oklahoma, writes about his experience in the Corvette forums, “I was fortunate enough to be one of the four students in the first ZR1 driving course, it comes with the car. I wanted to get the maximum I could from my experience, I think I did. …I will tell you the schedule, the instructors, the employees, the owner, the food, the cars, the track, the club house are all second to none, and the classes were excellent. … I left a better driver for sure, more aware of my car and its capabilities. …The ZR1 class offered plenty of seat time in both the Z06 and ZR1. You will leave understanding the difference in the two cars with exceptional training behind you.”
We are proud to have been chosen as one of only two authorized training facilities in the country to offer specialized driving programs to new Corvette ZR1 owners. Each new ZR1 owner receives a FREE 2-day driving school, compliments of Chevrolet. Registration for the ZR1 school has now begun, with classes filling fast. SEMA SHOW 2008
 Management and sales staff at Spring Mountain recently attended the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 4-7, 2008. The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center. Spring Mountain proudly exhibited at this convention, and displays of a beautiful C6RS, a Radical SR8, a Lotus Cup Car, a Callaway Corvette and a ZR1 were featured throughout the Convention Headquarters and at the Las Vegas Hilton, our latest Corporate Member of Club Spring Mountain. We also offered a state-of-the-art Virtual GT driving simulator for participants to try their skills on the racetrack in a highly authentic simulated environment. We met customers, past students and automotive enthusiasts from across the country and we were proud to be a part of this mega-show with 60,000 domestic and international visitors and two million square feet of exhibits.

Dyno Shop Now Open!
Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch is proud to announce that our new Dyno Shop is now open at our facility. Featuring state-of-the-art equipment by Dyno Jet, the shop is located in the Lotus  building, near the Club Spring Mountain member center and we encourage our customers to take advantage of this convenient service.
The Dyno machine must be run with the assistance of James Barwell from Powertec Engineering, who is located in the office adjacent to the Dyno Shop. As a courtesy to James, prior to taking your car to the dyno, please call first on his cell phone 702-481-5611 to ensure he is available. If you cannot reach James, call Simon Shepard at 714-369-3361.
Dyno Rates:
Set-up fee: $150.00, includes 3 power runs (approximately one hour)
$150 per additional hour
If you have any questions about the new Dyno service, please do not hesitate to contact us. your engine’s operating parameters, ensuring optimum performance and efficiency. The dynamometer provides print-ouhe torque and power characteristics of the engine through the engine revolution range. Thphs can be used to determine the optimum speed or revolutions for gear changes to suitm acation, and optimum track times!

The month of November features some phenomenal events, including the Grand Opening of the world’s first destination dealership, an exclusive, members-only preview of the new Porsche 911, the legendary Corvette Track Days, and another exciting Club race.  On November 13-14 our members were invited to an exclusive preview of the Porsche 911, courtesy of Gaudin Porsche in Las Vegas. During this unforgettable experience in the driver’s seat, members will learn techniques from world famous Porsche Sport Driving School instructors that will reveal what the new 911 in capable of.  Also on November 15-16, the Las Vegas Region Porsche Club of America and Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) present Open Track Days at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch. Club Spring Mountain members are invited to participate in this exciting event. The track opens at 7:00 am and the mandatory Driver’s Meeting is at 8:00am. On November 22-23 we are proud to present the popular Corvette Track Days at Spring  Mountain. This season’s Corvette Track Days will be better than ever, as we unveil our hot new ZR1’s. With 638 horsepower and 604 ft/Lbs of torque, the ZR1 is the most powerful, and most expensive, Corvette ever made. Please note that the Corvette Track Days event will run on the 3.1-mile road course and for the first time ever, vehicles other than Corvettes can be driven at this event, only by members of Club Spring Mountain. The Advanced Group will include members in ANY variety of car. Novice, beginner and intermediate groups are strictly for Corvettes only. The Saturday night banquet will be hosted in the Clubhouse.  Finally, the weekend of November 29-30 brings us our own Club Radical Race Series Event, featuring Rookie, SR3 and Unlimited classes. Members with Radicals or Sports Cars are invited to participate! We look forward to seeing all of our members and guests at these action-packed November events. Different rules and guidelines will apply for each of the event companies, so don’t hesitate to call if you need more information or if you have questions.

A Reminder to Club Members
Missing Towels. We are pleased to offer our members amenities to make your visit to Club Spring Mountain more  convenient, such as complimentary towel service in the locker room. Since our Grand Opening in May we have lost nearly 100 towels. We would like to continue providing this service to our members, so please help us by checking your belongings before leaving the club to ensure you are not taking our Club towels home with you. We appreciate your cooperation.
Karts only in designated areas. In the interest of safety and visibility we kindly ask that drive your kart ONLY in designated karting areas. Please do not drive your karts at any time in the paddock areas or through the tunnel. If you would like to take your kart out on the lower skid pad, please ask Ken Northrup for assistance and he will trailer your kart down to the paddock area safely. It is not safe to drive your kart outside of designated karting areas.
Fuel in your Garage. Please do not store fuel in your garage as it is against Nye County Fire Codes. If fuel is found in a garage the member will be subject to a fine levied by Nye County Fire officials.

Spring Mountain took delivery of its first ZR1 Corvette for the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School last week. We are proud to have been chosen as one of only two authorized training facilities in the country to offer specialized driving programs to new Corvette ZR1 owners. Each new ZR1 owner receives a FREE 2-day driving school, compliments of Chevrolet. Registration for the ZR1 school has now begun, with classes starting on October 20 and filling fast. But thanks to Spring Mountain Driving School’s new partnership with Corvette racing legend, Ron Fellows, we have acquired two of these amazing vehicles, and taking them for a spin around the facility’s 3.1 mile track is now a possibility.
 Anthony D’Avanzo and Mitch Burlake (pictured here) from Spring Mountain flew to Detroit Michigan last week to pick up our new, fully-loaded, Jet Stream Blue 2009 ZR1 from Les Stanford Chevrolet. Anthony and Mitch embarked on a cross-country journey with the new ZR1 to deliver the car to Spring Mountain and have chronicled their trip in the forums. Our second ZR1 will be delivered the week of October 13, and we’ll keep you posted in this newsletter with more ZR1 stories.
Our Spring Mountain sales representatives had a busy schedule of Corvette Shows last month. On September 20 we exhibited at the Historic Prescott All-Corvette Car Show, sponsored by the Vette-Sette Corvette Club, in beautiful Prescott Arizona. Then we headed over to Henderson, Nevada for the Super Run Car Show, which was great fun. The weekend of October 11-12 was packed with activity. In Tombstone Arizona, Anthony and Mitch displayed the brand new ZR1 for the Corvettes and Ghostriders Annual Corvette show. In Pomona, we displayed a 2008 Z06 school car at the Pomona Valley Corvette Association’s 6th All American Car & Corvette Show.
Our next Corvette Track Days will be held November  22-23 and is always an eagerly-anticipated weekend. We are planning an extra-special event, and are excited to see our friends and fellow Corvette owners at the all-new Spring Mountain next month.
We look forward to seeing all of our friends and graduates at many of the other upcoming Corvette events across the country.

NEW! Ron Fellows Performance Driving School
Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch is proud to announce our affiliation with Corvette racing legend Ron Fellows to present our new Ron Fellows Performance Driving School, featuring Corvette driving programs, set to debut this month.
In the world of auto racing, Ron Fellows’ name is synonymous with Corvette. He’s been a leading part of Corvette Racing since the program began more than 10 years ago. And over the years he has been the team’s most successful driver - 26 American Le Mans Series wins, three-times ALMS GT1 champion, two-times GT1 winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and overall winner of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Fellows’ impressive list of awards, combined with his unprecedented four consecutive ALMS most Popular Driver Awards, are all reasons for Spring Mountain to consider this new alliance a “jewel in its crown.”
The goal of this partnership is to provide the most highly-regarded and comprehensive driving school curriculum available in the motorsports world. The new Ron Fellows Performance Driving School will offer a wide range of driving programs guaranteed to provide an adrenaline-packed track experience for our students. Curriculums include 1-, 2- and 3-day Corvette Programs, a newly-released ZR1 Program, and an SCCA License Recommendation Program.

Ron Fellows participated in the on-track development of the Corvette ZR1, America’s Supercar, and will be instrumental in facilitating the delivery of several ZR1’s to Spring Mountain for the new owners of this amazing new vehicle.
